Other Hobbies than gaming? That's heresy! I need to report you to the Commisar. May the emperor have mercy on your soul...

Let's see, there is X-Wing 1.0, Star Wars: Legion, Boardgames, Blood Bowl, Video Games, crafting things for the for mentioned games, watching YouTube and Twitch (for the hobby) and listen to music (while painting Star Wars: Legion and Blood Bowl)

Writing. Primarily sci-fi but I will write any story that interests me. I am hoping to publish a book of original sci-fi stories one day.

Purchased May 3rd, at 10:47 PM CST. I got the best seats in the house almost 15 minutes before they were available online. Not a chance in hell I'm missing this one - it's my holy grail of movies. And they had better not screw it up!

Everything Else / Non-gaming Hobbies

So, aside from playing games with my son, whether it's X-wing, Edge of the Empire, odd card games like hanafuda, or strategy-based chess-type board games like shogi, go, or, uhm... chess, I do other things for fun.

At the moment (and I don't really consider research a hobby even though I consider it to be a lot of fun), I am building musical instruments again. I haven't done this in decades, so it's nice to try my hand at it again. The first thing I ever built was a double-necked guitar that had a fretless bass on one neck and a steel slide on the other. It was appraised at around $5000 dollars, but it was hocked by an unscrupulous (former) friend of mine, so there's that.

I had started building a set of northumbrian pipes many years ago, which are similar to bagpipes except not as annoying and pumped with a bellows instead of blown with the mouth. However, since my health has declined in recent years, I am trying something that is not as ambitious just yet.

I am currently getting back into this by working on a bodhrán, which is an Irish frame drum (I will post pictures when I can). If this project goes well, I will try building a set of uilleann pipes - perhaps with the help of a musician friend of mine.

Yeah, music is pretty much my thing. What's yours?

GREENIE! Welcome back!

So, what changed your mind? Couldn't sell them at the time, or decided to keep them?

I recently attempted to sell off. I love the game and have so many wonderful memories.

Cantina / Solo film poll

Hey everyone. Here's a poll put up as a kind of "welcome back to the forums" thing. You know the drill: select your response to the poll and leave a brief comment about your thoughts on the film below.

If you need some help in the backoffice. I'd volunteer since I have some experience... not a professionally trained webmonkey but an IT SysAdmin ;)

Online Play / Re: Online Play Website - Updates and Error reporting
« Last post by gethralkin on May 03, 2018, 12:39:41 PM »
Just tested the SWPM online game and got through a decent portion until I destroyed an objective, upon which I got this error report:

Code: [Select]
Perform Strike
Strike Possible 1 - Unit Selected - Valid - Current Strike
Strike Destroys Objective
funcCompMoveUnits

Strike Possible 2 - Unit Selected
Strike Possible 3 - Unit Selected
Strike Possible 4 - Unit Selected
Strike Possible 5 - Unit Selected
Check Combat After
Objective Destroyed Effects No Battle After
funcSetGameAttributesRoll in SoloGameFunctions.cfm

You pass in Game XML, 4 Dice Results for Computer and Player and why the roll is happening

The procedure Sets all the parameters in the Game XML

End funcSetGameAttributesRoll in SoloGameFunctions.cfm

After going back to the game via the "resume game" feature, it picked back up where it left off, with the objective destroyed. So, a bit of a hiccup but not a devastating one for the game in progress.

In any case, I think I will give Gary a heads up that the forums are back up and running for all intents and purposes. Hopefully, the online game can be finally debugged completely.

EDIT: Apparently, Tractor Beam is no longer fixed for some reason...
