Easy Ground Unit question
« on: July 29, 2008, 05:21:33 PM »
Hi all. I got my first ground unit (:jawa:) and I have a question.

The rules say that "if they are attacked, ground units attack back in any zone." What does "attack back" mean? I may have more questions once I understand what this rule allows ground units to do.

It means you are able to return fire to any unit in any zone.
You can attack a space unit only if you are at your home zone.

Canseco is correct. Ground Units can only attack space units in their own home zone. In the contested zone, or your enemies zone, they can only defend against space units. Or, in enemies zone, they can attack objectives. Ground Units can be alot of fun, but sometimes a little tricky to play because of the lack of being able to initiate battles.

I think I understand now. They can only defend if attacked, not actually attack.

And I agree about the limited usefulness of ground units, now that I understand them. Still, I'd probably run the sandcrawler, it may not be a great piece but it's fun and different.

But if look at the stats of ground units, many ground units posses stats equal to space units with one :star: more then the ground unit.
And don't forget the strike bonus of ground units

That piece is better than it first looks.  It is good at striking objectives, has a high shield value, and armor.  I gave that thing a beating in one game and it would not die.
