What if Spock mindmelded with new Star Trek's Scotty?
« on: April 09, 2012, 10:46:43 AM »
If the next Star Trek film came out, would you be interested in seeing one last final glimpse of Spock in it? Considering Leonard Nimoy's decision to remain off-camera, this could be a problem. However, I have sent out messages to J.J. Abrams, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto, and Leonard Nimoy, as well as William Shatner, to ask about the possibility of a final final cameo of old-timeline Spock to mind-meld with Simon Pegg as Scotty. For whatever reason - maybe even that Spock is dying but is trying to transfer his consciousness to meld with young Spock - a meld with Pegg's Scotty would be hilarious and can afterward include voice-overs from Nimoy from off camera (his currently preferred method of portrayal). The choice of Bones would be reflective of the previous plot device in Wrath of Kahn/Voyage Home. However, with Pegg, the result would have tremendous comedic potential, with the additional aspect of Simon playing a serious side.

Discuss!  :)

Now, I realize that all this is likely NOT going to happen. Especially when licensing prevents outside submission of material from being acknowledged. However, if the slim chance that such an idea could take place, my preference would to have Simon Pegg be the vessel for the Spock conscience. How about you? What new-timeline Star Trek character would you like to see having to struggle with a second consciousness of Spock communing with and through them?

For those of you that received mailings about this topic, I sent that out as a test for the system. I would like to see if the announcement system is working properly, so please reply here if you got it, but also voice your opinion about the subject in the thread.

If it is working okay, then I will announce important news in the future. Thanks!

I think it would be cool if he melded with Kirk.  That could make for an interesting story.  Or, he could even meld with young Spock.  Facinating concept.  I did get an announcement email BTW, that was fun. ;D
