Now to comment on my card (finally)

Why did I choose the leader icon as opposed to what everyone expected, a force icon?

This decision was based on the flavor of the movie, with Darth Vader chasing Luke in the trench as leader of his group and Luke being leader of his run, ;) "I'm on the leader". Also, I thought that using a force icon would have made it a bit to powerful, being able to be used on every ship.

Doesn't every game have a "tutor" card? thats so unoriginal.

Unoriginal in the realm off CCG's, perhaps, but not to this game. I think this particular type of card is useful in all CCG's, although with cards such as call for help, mustafar mining platform and acceptable loss it may be a bit powerful, but is balanced by the fact your opponent could be playing the card in his deck as well and "use the force" to find something to counter you.

All in all, I like the card and would like to see something like this in the game and thats why I created it. Congrats to all the finalists, the winner, and me :)

Hey, buddy, I lost my legs in the Clone Wars, can ya spare a little force?

Gratz to both of you guys!

Fanatics was the one I voted for. I thought about adding that to my Swarm/Res build to be able to find that DSH, MMP, or AL that I'd been needing and it instantly became my top choice. :)

Yeah Fanatic, I forgot to congratulate you too... I really though you had this contest in the bag with you tutor card. Hell if I hadn't had to have voted for my card I'd have voted for yours.

Word.

Thanks...I was sure it would win, but in the end the best card won I guess...guess the game needs both these cards LOL

They'll never make it into a set. Mostly because they're properly worded.

And have sensible mechanics which interact with the current ruleset flawlessly.

I should be the one designing the cards...at least the wording would be clear and easy to understand...if I can do it then why can't the people they pay to do it, do it.

Because when you're getting paid by the hour, you want to work more hours and make it look like what you're doing is hard. If it looks easy, they give you more work or they cut your hours. So, the people that thought out the wording need to make it look really challenging. Best way to do that is to leave some things that make people wonder and ask lots of questions. Then they can take the time "fixing" it even though they already know what to do (and maybe have it done already). It's like a mini-vacation they get paid for. Then they get big praise when they "figure out the solution" later down the road.

It's simple work-pace-economics. :)

Jawa that! If pumping out cards that are balanced, well worded, lead to exciting and addictive gameplay, and compliment/counter each other then I'll take a pay cut.

still in the planning stage.  Also, there should be more prizes on the way to us to give out in even more contests after that. At least that's what I'm told :)
